C4 June Update

Although it's been a while since we've provided an update on everything that's been happening here at C4, we've been hard at work with our partners and committees so it's high time we shared what we've been up to!

Here are our updates in chronological order

Gem CEO Joins CCSS Steering Committee

C4 is happy to welcome Gem CEO Micah Winkelspecht to the CCSS Steering Committee. Gem's staff has taken a keen look at the CCSS draft and have provided valuable feedback and additions to the standard. Led by Gem's Senior Software Engineer Matt Smith, Gem's most recent pull request has enhanced the CCSS to include definitions and clarify a lot of the technical terms used throughout the standard. With Gem's help, C4 is confident that the CCSS will reach its goal of providing comprehensive security to all who adopt it.

"We've watched several blockchain companies suffer from large scale security compromises in the past few years, which erodes consumer confidence in the technology as a whole. By sharing security best practices and building a common security standard we can help the entire blockchain ecosystem by giving companies a clear roadmap for success, and ultimately boost consumer confidence in the technology." - Micah Winkelspecht

CBP Refresh Begins

Technology changes very quickly these days, and Bitcoin is no different. In order to ensure that our certification continues to meet the needs of the industry, we have appointed Ethan Wilding as the chair of the CBP Exam Committee.

Ethan's role at C4 includes working with committee members to update the CBP exam questions to ensure they remain relevant in the fast-changing world of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin. Ethan's previous experience in other volunteer capacities will be very helpful in his new role at C4.

C4 Appoints two new Directors to its Board

Finally, C4 is thrilled to announce the appointment of two new directors to our board: Andreas M. Antonopoulos and Pamela Morgan.

Pamela has joined C4 as its Director of Education, and will be working to ensure C4's various standards are backed by educational material to train our industry's newest cryptocurrency professionals. Her extensive experience in higher education and training, coupled with her understanding of cryptocurrencies, make her the perfect candidate to lead our content curation efforts. The CBP, CBX, and CCSS initiatives will all receive specialized curricula to assist professionals in gaining the knowledge required to attain certification.

Andreas has joined C4 to assist in both the CBX and CCSS projects. As the author of Bitcoin's most prolific book, Mastering Bitcoin, Andreas' assistance will be invaluable in ensuring C4's more technical projects achieve their requisite levels of quality.

C4 fosters the cryptocurrency community's effort to develop standards through an open, transparent and participatory organization. These standards provide a benchmark by which organizations and individuals can demonstrate their professionalism. I have contributed to and implemented these standards myself and I am delighted to join the board of C4 to further advance these efforts. - Andreas M. Antonopoulos
